2017 Volvo XC90 Review
The Volvo XC90 is a midsize luxury SUV with 3-row seats. After going more than a decade with no major upgrade, the XC90 is completely redesigned for 2016 with new styling, new powertrains, a revised interior and a long list of new features. Volvo’s new XC90 main offers both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options in addition to two gas engine choices and a hybrid to suit various customers. A luxury interior with seat options for either 5 or 7 passengers with room for freight makes it a solid option in a full-size SUV.
2017 Volvo XC90 Engine
To be honest, 2017 Volvo XC90 doesn’t actually convert a finished XC90 into a T8 Twin-Engine Plug-in Hybrid. There isn’t any team of Swedish robots ripping out Haldex hardware to make way for the 9.2-kWh battery pack that gets bolted into the driveshaft tunnel. Volvos Scalable Product Architecture was designed from the start to accommodate the back-mounted 87-hp AC motor that distinguishes the T8 from other XC90 models. Volvo calls this version Twin Engine because it retains the 316-hp turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder that powers the T6. But the T8, in fact, has a third power source, a 46-hp electric motor that sits between the gas engine and the XC90s eight-speed automatic transaxle. Total system output is 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque.

2017 Volvo XC90 have many type of driving mode. Arm driving manners can be altered through a center console button with options of Relaxation, Eco, Dynamic, Off Road, and Person. They perform as expected, with Eco muffling responsiveness, Dynamic enhancing it, and Relaxation providing that happy medium most people will love as the default option setting. The start/stop function is one of the smoothest we’ve experienced, with no noticeable shudder. The only way you’ll understand the engine is off is if you happen to detect the disappearance of the engine sound. This is tougher than you might think because engine noise is so well muted. The cottage is really an escape, with a road, the wind, and engine noise all kept at bay. Even inferior weather with significant wind and rain was kept outside the windows, never interfering with dialog in the car.
There is plenty of tech in the 2017 Volvo XC90, starting with a Sensus 9-inch touchscreen that’s the focus of the dashboard. It’s large, and it might, in the beginning, seem like too much, but it turns out to be just right. Envision how simple it is to use a tablet. You don’t have to think about it because the movements are all instinctive. The same is true for the Sensus.
Swipe left or right, scroll up or down, and the path on what you desire to see. There’s no need to keep digging through endless menus with the Sensus. It’s tempting to pick up that little apparatus when you’re driving, but having everything reachable on that large 9-inch display removes the temptations of distracted driving completely.
A head-up display enables you to correct not only the positioning of the display, so tall and short drivers can see it but colors and brightness. It includes your speed in addition to the posted rate, a fine touch and one that will likely help you prevent a ticket when the speed limit drops unexpectedly on unknown roads. It also shows navigation and incoming calls, keeping the info exhibited modest enough that it never interferes with your view of the road.
2017 Volvo XC90 Price
In regards to pricing, there is no doubt that the 2017 Volvo XC90 is a more attractive price than the Q7.
