Subaru is seriously interested in making sure the Crosstrek comes well -equipped from the factory. Crosstreks comes in two trim levels: Superior and Limited. Superior-specced cars include lots of useful attributes. The regular stereo has Bluetooth connectivity, iPod controllability, an auxiliary input jack, a USB port and six speakers with live audio streaming.

The Crosstrek comes standard with an anti-lock braking system, electronic traction and stability control and electronic brake assist. The Crosstrek also ranks at the top of its type in Insurance Institute for Highway Safety evaluations and was chosen as a Top Safety Pick.
Choices on both models include a navigation system and a power moonroof. The Hybrid Crosstrek also gets climate control and keyless entry. A Hybrid Touring model contains navigation, leather, and a sunroof.

Our latest 2.0-liter test car, however, was equipped with Subaru’s elective Lineartronic constantly variable automatic ($1000), which adds 168 pounds to the bundle. At 10.3 seconds to 60 miles per hour, the CVT-equipped XV Crosstrek’s acceleration dropped somewhere between the breathless squirt of a Toyota Prius and a Chevrolet Spark CVT—not exactly quick company.
While strong driving dynamics, high-tech safety features and a fuel-friendly all-wheel-drive system all help make the Crosstrek a crossover that is good, it’s the vehicles overall capability that takes it from good to excellent. Upon taking the opportunity to go off a road in gravel, muddy and waterlogged trails and then upping the ante on some rocky routes, the Crosstrek was confidence inspiring and managed the route without difficulty. It’s also worth pointing out the compact crossover’s 8.7-inches of ground clearance is more than any of its rivals, except the pricey Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.
2016 Subaru Crosstrek Price
Pricing for the Crosstrek is competitive, starting at $22,445 including the destination in the U.S. and $24,995 in Canada. Hybrid models are also available, though we didn’t get the chance to try them out. They start at $27,245 in the U.S. and $30,495 in Canada.
